Biografie

Frances Muir was born in England but has lived with her family in South African since 2007. While growing up, she was always apart of choir, and was a member of the Northamptonshire Senior Girls choir who performed at the Junior proms in 2006.

After moving to South Africa, Frances participated in numerous sporting endeavours and have 3 national rugby championships to her name. She has performed in several musical theatre productions, including The Little Shop of Horrors and The King and I.

Frances attended with University of Pretoria and graduated with her Bachelor in Music in 2018 and her Masters in Music (Performing Art) in 2021, both with distinction. Because of her academic achievements, she was gifted a lifetime membership to the esteemed Golden Key International Society in 2021.

She has performed in South African, USA, and Germany. Her major roles include, Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Ann Putnam (The Crucible) and Countess (Le nozze di Figaro). Frances was also a part of the fully staged Bach St. John Passion performance with Umculo Oper, which won two international opera awards. In 2022, Frances is scheduled to perform Leitmeritzerin (Der Rosenkavalier) and Olga (Die lustige Witwe) with South African opera company SittOpera.
