TREMBLE - new premiere of The Czech National Ballet
The Czech National Ballet presents a new premiere on March 2, 2017. The new opus of the artistic director and choreographer Petr Zuska is a symbolic image, a sort of poem without words. Yet its title clearly refers to a belief in the better.
Tosca in Prague again: the new production of Puccini´s opera thiller
The National Theater is the venue at which the State Opera during its reconstruction premieres the new production of Puccini´s Tosca on 28 and 29 January 2017. One of the most popular works of the opera world about passion, honor and betrayal on the background of political intrigues will be performed by the State Opera Orchestra and Chorus under the baton of its Music Director Andreas Sebastian Weiser. The new production of Tosca will be created by the renowned French director Arnaud Bernard.
Orff´s operas: suitable even for the unexperienced ears
The National Theatre Opera prepared two opera specialities for its audience that can be seen and heard during one evening: the two one-act fairytale operas Die Kluge and Der Mond by Carl Orff, globally known for the famous cantata Carmina Burana. These operas premiere on 20 and 21 October 2016 under the baton of Zbyněk Müller and the director will be Jiří Nekvasil.
The Little Mermaid – world premiere of a new ballet
The immortal tale of the true love of a mermaid for an earthly prince, penned by the famed Danish author H. C. Andersen, has inspired the choreographer Jan Kodet, the renowned stage directors’ tandem SKUTR (Martin Kukučka and Lukáš Trpišovský), the composer Zbyněk Matějů, the set designer Jakub Kopecký and the costume designer Alexandra Grusková to create a new ballet production. World premiere: 10 November 2016 at the Estates Theatre
Carmen from Prague opens Thurn und Taxis Palace Festival Regensburg
