Rin Tokuyama

Biography

Rin Tokuyama was born on February 13, 2001, in Kanazawa, Japan. She began her dance training at Ecole de HB in Japan, and from 2015 to 2018 studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich, Germany, under the guidance of Natálie Hoffmann and Boyana Nenadovich. During her studies, she was awarded a scholarship from the Deutscher Bühnenverein for three consecutive years of her bachelor's program.

She has performed in both classical and contemporary repertoire, including roles such as the Sugar Plum Fairy (The Nutcracker), Marie (The Nutcracker), Dulcinea (Don Quixote), Kitri’s friend, the Grand pas de deux from Flammes de Paris, Pas de trois from Paquita, Études, Symphony Classic, Conservatory, and The Pharaoh’s Daughter. She also appeared with Theater und Philharmonie Essen in Germany and later danced with Ballet de Catalunya in Spain.

She is a laureate of several international competitions, including 2nd place at the Concours Rudolf Noureev (Italy, 2023), the Special Jury Prize from Julio Bocca at the 4th International Scholarship Korea Ballet Competition (2019), and a gold medal with the Prix Artistique Sonia Rykiel at Le Chausson d’Or (France, 2014). She was also a finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix in New York (2013 and 2014), where she received scholarships from both The Australian Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.

Since the 2024/2025 season, she has been a member of the corps de ballet of the Czech National Ballet in Prague.
