Biography
Soprano Olga Jelínková graduated from the Prague Conservatoire in the class of Antonie Denygrová (2002) and the Academy of Music in Prague in the class of Miloslav Podskalský (2009). She also participated in master classes with Richard Sigmund in Merano, Italy, Tereza Berganza in Spanish Santander, where she also participated in some concerts and recitals, and with Peter Dvorský in Znojmo, the Czech Republic. In June 2011 Olga became finalist of the prestigious singing competition Concorso di Canto lirico internazionale per Cantanti lirici – Giacomo Puccini in Italian Lucca, and in November 2011 she won the first prize in the International singing competition of Antonín Dvořák in Karlovy Vary, the Czech Republic. Olga has guest appeared as Rosina (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia) at the South-Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice, Eurydice (Offenbach: Orphée aux enfers) at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, Madame Herz (Mozart: Der Schauspieldirektor) at the Municipal Theatre in Brno, The Queen of the Night (Peter Schaffer: Amadeus) at the Silesian Theatre in Opava, The Queen of the Night (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte) and Adele (J. Strauss: Die Fledermaus) at the National Theatre Brno, Gilda (Verdi: Rigoletto) and Amina (Bellini: La Sonnambula) at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec; for her Amina she was nominated for the Thalia Award 2010. In June 2010 she performed as Micaëla (Bizet: Carmen ) in Seoul, South Korea with the Prague State Opera ensemble. She created Bellini’s Amina also in Polish Szczecin and German Ingolstadt. Since February 2012 Olga performs the Queen of the Night at the State Opera in Prague. In 2012 she extended her repertoire with the title role of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor (Moravian Theatre Olomouc) and later on Nanetta (Verdi: Falstaff). On the concert stages Olga performs with the Czech organ player Aleš Bárta, Baroque Jazz Quintet and Ensemble Martinů. In September 2008, she sang soprano solo in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 with the Prague Symphony Orchestra led by Jiří Kout and Poulenc‘s Stabat Mater under the baton of Serge Baudo (2013). Olga regularly cooperates with the Czech Philharmonic Collegium, with which she has recorded CD with Dvořák’s, Verdi’s and Puccini's arias (Danish company Classico) and undertook a concert tour of Japan (2008). For the Czech Radio she has recorded, among others, with viola player Jitka Hosprová the new song cycle by Zdeněk Lukáš: Quis? for soprano and viola, and with pianist Martin Levický the new song cycle Voices on Canvas by Jan Jirásek, dedicated to her. She has begun her cooperation with the Prague National Theatre in 2014, as Mégacle (Mysliveček: L’Olimpiade) at the Estate Theatre, where she also sang Mozart‘s Queen of the Night. Her new role is the Nightingale (Stravinsky: Le Rossignol) at the historical building of the National Theatre. Since January 2015, she has been soloist of the Moravian Theatre Olomouc, where she debuted as Lisa (Kálmán: Grafin Maritza).
