Miloš Horák studied singing privately with Professor R. Tuček and Professor K. Bachmannová, and attended master classes led by N. Hillebrand. In 2000, he became a member of the Municipal Theatre in Ústí nad Labem, where he performed the roles of Uncle Bonzo (Puccini: Madama Butterfly), Marquis d’Aubigny (Verdi: La traviata), Hermann (Offenbach: Les contes d’Hoffmann), etc. In 2004, he joined the Prague State Opera Chorus, where he was also assigned solo parts, including the roles of Narumov (Tchaikovsky: The Queen of Spades), Fiorello (Rossini: Il barbiere di Sivilia), Verdi’s Count Ceprano (Rigoletto) and Vaudemont (I vespri siciliani), and Puccini’s Imperial Commissioner (Madama Butterfly), Sciarrone (Tosca) and the Mandarin (Turandot). In 2008, he advanced to the final round of the Antonín Dvořák International Vocal Competition in Karlovy Vary. From 2009 to 2011, he was a soloist of the Prague State Opera, where he extended his repertoire to include the roles of Papageno (Mozart: Die Zauberflöte), Basilio (Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), Raimondo (Donizetti: Lucia di Lammermoor), Verdi’s Lodovico (Otello), Ramphis (Aida – in this part he also appeared during the Prague State Opera’s guest appearances at Salzburg, and on its Japanese tour) and Ferrando (Il trovatore), as well as Colline (Puccini: La bohème). He appeared as a guest at the National Theatre in Prague, where he performed as the Canadian Forward and the Japanese Assistant in the revival of Martin Smolka’s opera Nagano. Since January 2012, he has been a soloist of the National Theatre Opera, where he has performed as Mozart's Figaro, Papageno and Leporello, Smetana's Chrudoš (Libuše), Würfl, Wonderglitter, Councillor (Janáček: The Excursions of Mr. Brouček), Banco (Macbeth), Mandarin (Puccini: Turandot) etc. As a permanent guest of the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň and the South Bohemia Theatre in České Budějovice, he has portrayed the roles of Colline, Basilio and Mozart’s Leporello (Don Giovanni) and Osmin (Die Entführing aus dem Serail). On concert stages, he has sung the bass parts in Bach’s Magnificat, Handel’s The Messiah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Verdi’s Requiem, and Dvořák’s Te Deum. In 2010, he appeared in the Czech Philharmonic’s performance of Novák’s cantata The Tempest.
