Italian dancer Marta Monesi (born 20 May 2005) unites a refined classical training with a fresh versatility that allows her to move fluently between grand tradition and contemporary innovation.
She began her studies at the La Scala Ballet School in Milan (2018–2020) before entering the Royal Ballet School in London (2020–2024), where she also gained a Bachelor of Classical Ballet in collaboration with Roehampton University and completed her A levels in Psychology. During her student years she was entrusted with key roles in school performances, from Finger Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty to the Swan Lake pas de deux, and she danced at prestigious occasions such as the Platinum Jubilee at Buckingham Palace (2022).
Her early stage experience includes performing with Teatro alla Scala in The Nutcracker (2018–2019), where she also appeared at the FIFA Awards Gala. She later joined the Royal Ballet Company for the 2022/23 season of The Nutcracker and performed with Birmingham Royal Ballet in the same title (2024).
Expanding her professional portfolio, Marta collaborated with the English National Ballet, appearing in Akram Khan’s Giselle, Mary Skeaping’s Giselle (as vine gatherer, friend and Willis), The Nutcracker (snow and flowers), and William Forsythe’s Playlist (Track 1, 2), Sneaky Ladies, Group Ladies and This Will Be.
Her achievements include the first prize at Novara Dance Experience (2018), a gold medal at the Royal Ballet School’s annual competitions, and numerous opportunities to embody a wide range of repertoire across both classical and contemporary stages.
With her 167 cm height, strong technique, and resilient, highly motivated nature, Marta brings to the stage a blend of Italian musicality and British refinement, captivating audiences with performances that balance precision, lyricism and expressive authenticity.
