

Biography
Soloist of the National Theatre and State Opera, Jana Sibera is one of the most sought-after sopranos on the Czech opera and concert stage. She is a graduate of the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. Her signature roles include Violetta (La Traviata), the title role in Massenet’s Manon, Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Mimi (La bohème), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Juliet (Roméo et Juliette), Ophelia (Hamlet), Micaela (Carmen), Nedda (Pagliacci), Adina (L'elisir d'amore), etc. At the end of the 2025/2026 season, she will add Blanche de la Force (Dialogues des Carmélites) to this list at the State Opera. Her repertoire of Czech opera roles includes Rusalka, the Vixen (The Cunning Little Vixen), Terinka (The Jacobin), Blaženka (The Secret), and Mařenka (The Bartered Bride). She is a regular guest at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň. She has been nominated twice for the prestigious Thalia Award for her roles as Ophelia (2017) and Violetta (2020). Her third nomination, for her portrayal of Massenet's Manon at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, won her the award in 2022. She successfully performed as Ophelia at the Göteborg Opera in Sweden, and her portrayal of Violetta at the Irish National Opera in Dublin was equally successful.
Jana Sibera is also intensely dedicated to concert activities. She collaborates with all major orchestras in the Czech Republic and has completed several tours in Japan, Korea, and China. She also participated in the recording of Jonas Kaufmann’s Romantic Arias (Decca) with the PKF – Prague Philharmonia, conducted by Marco Armiliato.
