The State Opera is a magnificent Neo-Renaissance structure, its interior adorned with exquisite Neo-Rococo details, crafted by the renowned Viennese architects Ferdinand Fellner and Hermann Helmer. It was built by the German-speaking community of Prague in the late 1880s as a response to the opening of the National Theatre. Though it may not have overshadowed the National Theatre in artistic grandeur, it proudly offers the most generous stage and auditorium dimensions in Prague — a remarkable feature that continues to set it apart to this day.
