First meeting, before the performance of Poe, is led by theatre educator Barbora Etlíková, who focuses on contemporary theatre reflection and is the founder and editor of the theatre criticism blog "Podhoubí". She specializes in dialogical formats of reflecting on independent theatre and related forms. For the past four years, she has been an external lecturer at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU in Prague, where she leads a Critical Seminar. The meeting itself will be a moderated discussion with continuous introductions to the context of Czech theatre and dance culture, as well as insights into the work of the performance's creator, Lenka Vagnerová.


Performance Poe by Laterna Magika(English subtitles)

A multimedia production inspired by the life and work of Romantic writer Edgar Allan Poe. Characters from his magical world come to life in a Laterna Magika production that blends dance, singing, original music, live instrumental performances, striking scenography, and impressive costumes, props, and puppets.

The second meeting will be led by lecturer Klára Muknšnáblová. It is an introductory lecture that outlines the history of the creation of opera, the work of Antonín Dvořák, and other historical and social contexts.


Performace Rusalka by Opera(English subtitles)

The second performance is the opera Rusalka, a masterpiece by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák and a gem of Czech opera. This fairy tale-myth explores the deepest desires, passions, and the seemingly insurmountable boundaries between humans and the elements.
