About
Worry about me, my Lord.
I do worry about you, too.
The Czech word tvrdohlavost (stubbornness) evokes obstinacy, sulkiness and unwillingness to compromise. The Slovak version, tvrdohlavosť, however, is softer, more in the sense of perseverance, tenacity, or determination.
Under what circumstances does our own stubbornness enclose us in solitude, and when can it do the opposite: break through the wall of social convention or even instigate change? How are we personally affected by the incited social hatred? Can aggressive words turn into actions? Why do we sometimes feel alone? Is that feeling common to everyone? The fates of several stubborn – or perhaps rather lonely – characters intersect in an unidentified city.
The original production by the SKUTR directing duo, inspired by the life and poems of the Brno narrator and dreamer Ján Sedal (as well as other stories) and conceived as a joint Czech-Slovak project of the Slovak National Theatre and the National Theatre in Prague, will bring together actors from both ensembles on one stage.
Co-production with the SNT Drama
