About
A scientific conference bringing together three leading French scientists who will present the latest scientific concepts in their respective disciplines in an accessible way for the general public.
The French Embassy in the Czech Republic and the French Institute in Prague are organizing a general public scientific conference called “Sounds of Science” on June 25th, 2026. This exceptional event will bring together four leading French scientists:
- Hugo Duminil-Copin, Fields Medal 2022
- Françoise Combes, Head of the French Academy of Sciences
- Pascal Mayer, Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences and Canada Gairdner International Award
- Under the patronage of Jean-Marie Lehn, Nobel prize in Chemistry, 1987
The event alternates musical pieces and scientific lectures, putting the latest advances in research into perspective and targeting the wider audience,from high school students to researchers.
The music interludes will be provided by French pianist Frank Braley, winner of 1991 the First Prize at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition (Belgium). Frank Braley will play a varied programme including Mozart, to honour the historical strong link between Stavoské divaldo and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
The event will be moderated by Daniel Stach (Česká televize).

Practical information
Where to buy tickets
When purchasing online, you can get an e-ticket. You can pick up printed tickets in person at the box offices of the National Theatre.
The National Theatre sells tickets up to 6 months in advance - currently for September 2026 – February 2027.
Sales always start on the 1st day of the month at 9am, except in January when pre-sales do not start until the 2nd day due to a public holiday.
What to wear?
By their appearance, attire and behaviour, the audience is obliged to adhere to the accustomed practice expected from them when attending a theatre performance.
Parking at the Estates Theatre
Unfortunately, there is no parking near The Estates Theater. You can use the guarded parking lot in the Kotva shopping center (Revoluční 1/655, Prague 1) and Paladium (Na Poříčí 1079 / 3a, Prague 1).
Buffets at the Estates Theater
No waiting. For your benefit, please pre-order your food and beverages at the bar to minimize waiting in the queue!
