Zuzana Přidalová

Biography

Zuzana Přidalová graduated from the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Brno (Promotional Design) and subsequently from the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts (JAMU) in Brno, where she studied Scenography under Prof. Ján Zavarský. During her studies, she also completed an internship at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in Lisbon. For more than two decades, she has been professionally active in set and costume design. Her extensive portfolio ranges from visual designs for children's and puppet theater and alternative projects to grand opera productions. Her work spans drama, musicals, operettas, and operas performed in national and municipal theatres across the Czech Republic. She has been involved in several alternative theatre scenes (e.g., 7apůl, Buranteatr) and was a founding member of the Tramtarie Theatre in Olomouc. Between 2010 and 2012, she collaborated with the Divadlo Komedie under the direction of Dušan Pařízek, participating in projects involving international creators. In the field of opera and operetta, she has designed sets and costumes for prestigious institutions, including: J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň: Le nozze di Figaro, The Jacobin, The Secret, The Kiss; South Bohemian Theatre, České Budějovice: Don Giovanni, Il trovatore; National Moravian-Silesian Theatre, Ostrava: Robert le diable; National Theatre in Prague: The Bartered Bride, Iolanta; National Theatre Brno: La bohème, The Merry Widow, Die Fledermaus; State Opera in Banská Bystrica: Die Zauberflöte, Aida. In addition to her design work, she is active as an educator and collaborates on the graphic design of promotional materials for various stage productions.
