
Zhenpeng Zhang
Biography
Chinese-born baritone Zhenpeng Zhang just received the Professional Studies Certificate at Manhattan School of Music where he also received his Master of Music degree under the tutelage of Cynthia Hoffmann, and holding his Bachelor’s degree at New England Conservatory. He recently won the Encouragement Award of The Metropolitan Laffont Competition (North Carolina District). Highlights of Zhenpeng’s former opera performances at the Manhattan School of Music include the title role of Le nozze di Figaro, Nardo/La finta giardiniera and Boniface/Angélique. His appearances in China include Silvio/Pagliacci at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Jingxian Chen in the premiered opera Jiageng Chen with the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra during the University of Xiamen’s centenary ceremony. In 2023 summer, He played Coppelius, Dappertutto and Miracle/Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Conte cover/Le nozze di Figaro with the Opera Carolina.
