Biography

In 1977, she completed her studies at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and in the same year began working at the state company Západočeské mlékárny, n. p. Klatovy. In 1978, she passed the rigorous exam and on 1 September began working in the judiciary at the Regional Court in Plzeň. After passing her judicial exams, on 15 June 1979 she was elected a judge for the District Court in Plzeň–City. Initially, she worked in the civil section, then in the penal, and finally in the civil section again. In January 1990 she was assigned to manage the District Court of Plzeň–City and subsequently appointed to the post of its presiding judge. At the same time, she was the presiding judge of the civil senate.

Following her withdrawal from the post of presiding judge of the district court in the spring of 1999, she continued to work as a judge in the civil section. In 2000 she joined the Regional Court in Plzeň, where she was encharged with the first-stage agenda, as well as appellate agenda in the civil section, for instance, the Act on personality protection, press libel suits, copyright suits, etc. Between 2005 and 2015 she was a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. She has never been a member of or candidate for any political party.
