Born in Munich, the soprano Susanne Bernhard studied at the Academy of Music in Munich and made her debut in 1997 as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro at the Prinzregententheater in Munich. Since then she has performed with Opera Frankfurt, Semper Opera in Dresden, the Staatstheater in Bregenz, among others. She is a regular guest at numerous festivals (Rheingau-Musikfestival, Menuhin-Festival Gstaad, Beethovenfest Bonn, Herrenchiemsee Festival) and has performed with the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Saarland Radio, and the NHK Tokyo Orchestra as well as with the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra and the OSESP Orchestra of São Paulo. Her discography includes, among others, a recording of Josef Mysliveček's opera Medonte for Deutsche Harmonia Mundi and Sony Music.
