Stanislava Vlčeková studied at the J. L. Bella Dance Conservatory in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, and the Dance Creation Department of the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava. One of the few contemporary dance pedagogues in Slovakia, since 2011 she has taught at the Drama Department at VŠMU and held workshops at home and abroad. In addition to pursuing a career as a professional dancer, since 2002 she has also worked as a choreographer. Since 2004 she has been a member of the Debris Company, for which she has created several acclaimed choreographies, which have been presented in Slovakia and abroad (London, Dublin, Budapest, Tokyo, Bornem, Singapore, Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Plzeň, Ostrava, Murska Sobota, Vienna, Graz, Bonn, Reims, Minsk, etc.). Since 2007 she has collaborated with the alternative company Elle danse and has been a member of the Skrat theatre in Bratislava. She has created choreographies for a number of theatre productions: Herodes Herodias (Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, directed by Roman Polák), And We Will Whisper (Slovak National Theatre in Martin, directed by Kamil Žiška), Le Misanthrope (SKD Martin, directed by Roman Polák), Oedipus (SKD Martin, directed by R. Polák), Coriolanus (State Opera Banská Bystrica, directed by R. Polák), Clouds (Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, directed by Martin Čičvák), The Brothers Karamazov (Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, directed by R. Polák), Capital (Aréna in Bratislava, directed by M. Čičvák), Uprising (Aréna, directed by Slávka Daubnerová), Untitled (P.A.T. in Bratislava, directed by S. Daubnerová), Der fliegende Holländer (National Theatre in Brno, directed by R. Polák), as well as cross-genre projects. She has also worked for film. In 2006 she was nominated for the Philip Morris Ballet Flower Award for modern dance performance and in 2009 she received the TAOS prize for dance performances in the productions The Apple (Elle danse) and Hexen (Debris Company). In 2012 she received third prize in the choreographic miniatures competition in Belgrade for her piece Rose for Ballet Bratislava.
