Soprano Sofia Soloviy graduated from the Mykola Lysenko National Music Academy in Lviv. In 2000 she moved to Italy, where she improved vocal skills at the Academy of Lyrical Art in Osimo and at the courses in Pesaro and Siena. She has performed at many opera houses and festivals, appearing as Elisetta (Il matrimonio segreto) at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice, The Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma and in Seoul, Idamante (Idomeneo) in Strauss's version of Mozart's opera at the Festival della Valle d'Itria in Martina Franca, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) in Aix-en-Provence, in Luxembourg and the Teatro San Carlo di Napoli, Manon Lescaut in Ljubljana, Poppea (L'incoronazione di Poppea) and Alceste at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Nedda (Pagliacci) in Liège and at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Elena (I vespri siciliani) in Reggio Emilia, Modena and Piacenza, Giovanna Seymour (Anna Bolena) in Liège and at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Elisabetta (Maria Stuarda) in Bregenz etc. Her extensive discography includes, among others, DVDs of Anna Bolena (Dynamic) and Pergolesi's L'Olimpiade (Arthaus Musik).
