Conductor Simone Di Felice makes his debut at the National Theatre Opera in March 2025 (Manon Lescaut, a new production at the State Opera). He studied piano and began his career as a coach first at the Teatro al Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence and then at the Teatro Marrucino in Chieti, Italy. He studied conducting at the conservatory in Karlsruhe and made his conducting debut with Verdi's Falstaff at the Teatro Mancinelli in Orvieto. Since the 2017/2018 season, Simone Di Felice has worked at the Opera Frankfurt as a coach and conductor. As an assistant conductor, he collaborates with Sebastian Weigle, Bertrand de Billy, and others. In Frankfurt, he has conducted numerous operas, including Monteverdi's L’incoronazione di Poppea, Handel's Radamisto, Rinaldo, and Orlando, Gluck's Ezio, Bizet's Carmen, Verdi's Rigoletto and Macbeth, Rossini's La gazza ladra, and Maderna's Satyricon. He has guest conducted at the Paris National Opera (Mozart's Die Zauberflöte), in Basel (Rossini's La Cenerentola), and at the Tirol Festival in Erl (Rossini's Bianca e Falliero and Donizetti's Don Pasquale). He has been teaching at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart since 2010.
