

Sergyi Kostov

Sergey Kostov, a Ukraine-born tenor of Bulgarian origin, studied classical singing at the Odessa Conservatory of Music with Prof. V. Doronin (2008-2011) and at the A. V. Nezhdanov National Academy of Music in Odessa, under the guidance of Prof. A. Duda (2011-2016). In 2014, he won the Vocal Competition in Lonigo, Italy. That year, he became a soloist of the choir of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, with whom he performed in Switzerland, Germany, Denmark and France. In 2017, he came second in the Vissi D’Arte vocal competition in Prague, following which he was engaged at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec. His repertoire includes the roles of Lensky (Tchaikovsky: Eugene Onegin), Nemorino (Donizetti: L’elisir d’amore), Borsa and the Duke of Mantua (Verdi: Rigoletto), Sinodal (Rubinstein: The Demon), and Rinuccio (Puccini: Gianni Schicchi).
