Biography
Renée Morloc studied singing at Salzburg’s Mozarteum. Her first engagement led her to Mannheim, where she debuted as Erda (Siegfried). During the 1992/1993 season she worked in Hanover. In the roles of Waltraute, Fricka and Erda she appeared, among other places, in Oslo, Helsinki, at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatstheater Kassel and Hamburgische Staatsoper. In several productions she sang the Nurse (Die Frau ohne Schatten), Carmen, Azucena (Il Trovatore), the Princess (Suor Angelica), Frugola (Il tabarro) and Kabanicha (Katya Kabanová). In addition to regularly performing on international opera stages, she also appears at concerts. A huge recent success of hers was the role of Clytemnestra in a new production of Strauss’ Elektra at Theater Duisburg (stage director: Stein Winge).Photo Klaudia Taday
