Radka Sehnoutková
Biography
Guest of the National Theatre Opera. Radka Sehnoutková studied voice and piano at Teplice’s Conservatory and from 1997 to 2003 at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. Since 2006 she has been permanently engaged by the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, performing in, for example, the roles of Susanna (Mozart: Le nozze di Figaro), Jitka (Smetana: Dalibor) and the First Nymph (Dvořák: Rusalka). One of her greatest successes to date is the recording of the title role in the animated version of Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen for the BBC, conducted by Kent Nagano. Other roles in her repertoire include Mozart’s Despina (Così fan tutte) and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro), and Bohuslav Martinů’s Ariane. Update: December 2007
