Ing. Petr Dvořák

Biography

Born in South Bohemia, Petr Dvořák studied cybernetics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. In 1999, he obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago. In the early 1990s, he co-founded B. I. G., a marketing agency in which he held the post of Chief Executive Officer. In 1999, he joined the executive committee of the PPF international financial group, participating in the development of Expandia banka (today’s eBank). He also worked at the Česká pojišťovna insurance company and sat on the Board of the Slavia Prague professional football club.

From 2003 to 2010, Petr Dvořák served as General Director of the TV Nova station and until 2011 was Vice-President for broadcasting of the entire CME media and entertainment company. Since 2011 till September 30, 2023 , he had been General Director of the public broadcaster Czech Television. He is an optimist, a keen snowboarder, traveller, active photographer and occasional guitarist with the Brumloboys rock band. He has four daughters.
