The Slovak actor, comedian, mime artist and clown Pavol Seriš is in the 2022/23 season collaborating with the National Theatre in Prague for the very first time, working as a motion adviser on the production pairing the operas Pagliacci & Cavalleria rusticana. He studied at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University in Brno (English and Norwegian) and at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts, where he has taught since 2018. He has led regular physical theatre workshops, and has frequently been invited to provide motion expertise (National Theatre and Bolek Polívka Theatre in Brno, Moravian Slovak Theatre in Uherské Hradiště, F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, Prague City Theatres). As a dramatist and actor, he has primarily given one-man shows, blending elements of physical theatre, stand-up comedy, mime and dance, spiced up with absurd humour. His productions have earned a number of accolades, including Discovery of the Year at the 2014 …příští vlna / next wave… alternative art festival in Prague.
