Biography

Tenor Oreste Cosimo made his debut at the National Theatre Opera in May 2024 as Alfredo (La traviata, State Opera). In 2016 he was selected by Riccardo Muti for his Italian Opera Academy in Ravenna and was also a member of Accademia del Teatro alla Scala; in La Scala, he participated in the productions of La traviata, Nabucco and Hänsel und Gretel and worked with conductors such as Antonio Pappano and Daniel Barenboim. His latest performances include Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor) and Alfredo (La traviata) at New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv and at Opéra de Nice, Ruggero (La rondine) at Teatro Regio in Turin, Rodolfo (La bohème) at Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago and in Nice, and Hoffmann (Les contes d’Hoffmann) at Deutsche Oper Berlin and in Tel Aviv. Oreste Cosimo graduated from the Conservatoire “Arrigo Boito” in Parma. In 2018 he moved to Vienna to study under the guidance of Ramón Vargas and at the same year he became a winner of ASLICO Competition, which gave him the opportunity to debut with the role of Fenton (Falstaff) in the theatres of Opera Lombardia (Como, Brescia, Bergamo, Cremona and Pavia).
