Ondrej Šaling

Ondrej Šaling was born in 1978 in the Slovak town of Zlaté Moravce. His passion for singing grew stronger when he was studying at the Faculty of Pedagogics of the Comenius University in Bratislava. While working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic (2000-2008) he completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. He studied opera and concert singing in the class of Professor Magdaléna Blahušiaková. Graduated Academy of Fine Arts in years 2007-2010 and completed internal PhD. with final title ArtD. He sang many roles on Slovak as well as foreign opera stages - e.g. Nemorino in the Elixir of Love, Arturo in I Puritani, Tonio in La fille du régiment, Mazal in The Excursions of Mr. Brouček to the Moon. Ondrej Šaling also performed at many concerts, Rossini's Petite Messe Solenelle, Stabat Mater, Dvořák's Stabat Mater and Orff's Carmina Burana. In the National Theatre in Prague he has performed in Martinů's Juliette, Orff's Die Kluge and Der Mond. He has been a soloist of the Meiningen Opera in Germany (Wagner: Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg - Walther von Stolzing).
