Ondřej Martiš

Biography

Ondřej Martiš studied at the Dance Conservatory in Brno. After graduation, he joined the South Bohemia Theatre in České Budějovice, where between 2012 and 2014 he performed in choreographies of such renowned creators as Rui Horta (Ordinary Events) and Jiří Kylián (Six Dances), as well as in productions of Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker and other classical titles. In 2014, he was engaged at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň, where until 2018 he appeared in dance productions, including as a soloist - Romeo and Juliet, Le sacre du printemps, Oliver Twist, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and others.
Ondřej has also performed in a number of musicals: Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Footloose, Hello Dolly, Catch Me If You Can, Fiddler on the Roof, The Producers, etc.
In 2015, he received an award for contemporary choreography at the International Ballet Competition in Plzeň.
He has also worked as an educator, with his first engagement being the Little Ballet School in Plzeň. Starting with classical dance technique, later on he began teaching modern and contemporary styles, as well as jazz. Ondřej currently teaches at Petra Parvoničová’s Dance Centre, Fit Dance Art in Plzeň and other institutions.
