Nina Jacques

Programmer of the Prague Crossroads Festival

She graduated from high school in Strasbourg and after that returned to Prague to study Evangelical Theology and Social Work at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of Charles University. After two years, she decided to start her studies at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU and studied Directing; during her studies, she had an internship in Giessen, Germany, at the Institute for Applied Theatre Science under Heiner Goebbels.

She is involved in directing, dramaturgy and collective work. As a dramaturge she has participated in Halka Třešňáková's productions (The Lockers, Divadlo DISK, 2016; In the Eye of the Loop, Meetfactory, 2016), The Awakening (Vosto5, 2018), Petra Tejnorová's Putin's Agents (Temporary collective, 2019) and For the White Whale (Terén, Brno, 2020). She is a member of the creative group 8people, which deals with interventions in public space and responds to current social themes on the borderline between theatre and performance (in the National Theatre the group prepared the project National Park Piazzeta and participated in the celebration of the thirtieth anniversary of the Velvet Revolution, collectively called Velvet Simulation).

Since the 2018/2019 season, she has been the dramaturge of the Drama Department of the National Theatre, where she has participated in the productions Oedipus Rex (2019) and the experimental film Ghosts Are Only Human Too (2020).
