Nicole Delacretaz
Biography
Nicole Delacretaz was born in Melbourne, Australia where she trained at Christine Walsh Dance Centre and then at the Australian Ballet School. While at the Australian Ballet School Nicole was awarded The Jacob Bloch Memorial Award, The George Garratt Memorial Scholarship and in her final year The Rose Walton Memorial Scholarship. Upon completing her Advanced Diploma of Dance at the Australian Ballet School Nicole received a full-time contract with The Australian Ballet (2001). After spending a year at The Australian Ballet Nicole decided to travel overseas to further her career. In 2002 she danced with Ballet Ireland with whom she performed several soloist roles such as The Honour Fairy, Aurora’s Friends and Jewels from Sleeping Beauty as well as the Morning pas de deux choreographed by Gunther Falusy. Nicole then accepted a short-term contract to dance with Ballet de l’Opera national du Rhin for their season of Giselle (March 2003, May 2003). In the 2003 - 2004 season Nicole began performing with the National Theatre Ballet in Prague and is currently in her second season. Some of the roles she has performed here are Cygnets from Swan Lake, Pas de Deux in Shawn Hounsell’s Imprint, Clara and Jackie in the box from Youri Vàmos’s Nutcracker – A Christmas Carol.
