Biography

Moldovan soprano Natalia Tanasii made her National Theatre Opera debut as Mimi (La bohème) in February 2020. She is a graduate of the Jerwood Young Artist Programme at Glyndebourne and the Zurich Opera Studio (2017–2019). She made her stage debut in 2012 at the age of 21 as The Countess (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Moldova National Opera and won 2nd prize in the 2019 Neue Stimmen competition. She has guest-starred at the Salzburg Festival and Opera Zurich in the role of 5. Maid (Elektra), at La Monnaie in Brussels, Opéra royal de Wallonie in Liège and Teatro Massimo di Palermo as Tatiana (Eugene Onegin), at Volksoper Wien as Iolanta, at Opera Frankfurt and Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon as Mimi (La bohème) and Micaëla (Carmen) and at the Norwegian National Opera in Oslo as Micaëla (Carmen) and Fiordilidgi (Così fan tutte).
