Biography
Permanent guest of the National Theatre Opera.
Comes from Ukraine where she studied at the Kiev Conservatoire. After her graduation she became soloist of the Kiev National Opera. In 1991 she started her regular guest performances in National Theatre opera in the title role of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. Later she also created on this stage Musetta in Puccini’s La bohème, Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto, Juliette in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette, Rosina in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Violetta in Verdi’s La traviata and Norina in Donizetti’s Don Pasquale. She also asserted herself as Mozartian singer where she excelled as Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte and Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. In the Prague State Opera she guest performed as Fiorilla in Rossini’s Il Turco in Italia and also as the Queen of the Night whom she has also sung in Volksoper in Vienna and in German Karlsruhe.
Karlsruhe and Wiesbaden are another opera houses where she gives guest performances regularly. She has extraordinary success as Lucie di Lammermoor and Violetta here. Her repertoire also includes Ofelia in Thomas’s Hamlet. Her concert activities are also notedly. Under the baton of Jiří Bělohlávek she sang Dvořák’s oratorio The Spectre’s Bride in Swedish Gothenburg, she had participated in several significant tours of USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. She visited Japan several times and not only gave concerts there but also performed in productions of The National Theatre and the Prague State Opera.
