Mykhailo Malafii

A native of Lviv, Ukraine, Mykhailo Malafii makes his National Theatre Opera debut in the 2023/24 season as Cavaradossi (Tosca) at the State Opera. He graduated from the Lviv National Music Academy and since 2015 he has been soloist of the Lviv National Opera. He has won numerous international singing competitions including the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary in 2013. He has guest appeared as Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly) at Opera Hong Kong, Oper Graz and Nationaltheater Mannheim, Gabriele Adorno (Simon Boccanegra) at the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Don Carlos at Oper Graz, The Prince (Rusalka) at the Flemish Opera, The Duke (Rigoletto) at Opéra de Lyon and at the Polish National Opera in Warsaw, Riccardo (Un ballo in maschera) and Alfredo (La traviata) at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest, Macduff (Macbeth) and Alfredo (La traviata) at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava, Rodolfo (La bohème) at the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm, the Baltic State Opera in Gdansk and in Tampere, Cavaradossi (Tosca) at Opera North in Leeds, etc.
