
Matteo Lippi

Born in Genoa in 1984, the tenor Matteo Lippi began to study singing with the mezzo-soprano Laura Bulian and continued his training at the CUBEC Accademia di Belcanto in Modena, under the guidance of Mirella Freni. In 2013, he won the Concorso Internazionale per Cantanti Toti in Treviso and debuted as Rodolfo in La bohème in Treviso, Ferrara, Jesi and Fermo. In the following year, he performed the role at La Fenice and the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, where ever since he has been a regular guest. He is scheduled to make a debut as Alfredo in La traviata at La Fenice in Venice, where he will appear in the role for several seasons. Furthermore, he will give his first performances in Oslo and in Florence, first in the summer at the Palazzo Pitti and then at the new Teatro del Maggio, within productions of Verdi’s popular trilogy, to be conducted by Fabio Luisi. He will return to the Bolshoi as Rodolfo, whom he will also portray at the San Carlo in Naples and the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, as well as in Athens, Cagliari, Florence, Venice, Cardiff and Bologna. Matteo Lippi will debut as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly within the Glyndebourne Festival Tour, as Ruggero in La rondine at the Opera Holland Park festival in London and as Roberto in Le Villi in Modena.
