Biography
Markéta Klaudová (born Böhmová) made her debut at the National Theatre Opera in December 2017 as Barena (Jenůfa) and has since appeared there as Servilia in a concert perfor-mance of La clemenza di Tito (conducted by M. Minkowski), in the cantata Dies numini et principi by Augustin Šenkýř, in the roles of Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Young Mařenka (The Bartered Bride). As a member of the children's choir Kantiléna in her native Brno, she performed in many productions of the National Theatre Brno at home and abroad. She graduated from the Faculty of Education at Masaryk University in Brno and in 2014 continued her singing studies in Campobasso, Italy, under the guidance of Alda Caiello. She regularly participates in competitions and masterclasses, among others with Emma Kirkby or Kateřina & Adam Plachetka. In August 2018, she became the winner of the Cesti-Wettbewerb in Innsbruck. She has guest appeared at the J.K. Tyl Theatre in Plzeň (Ilia, Ottavia, Ismene), the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava (Servilia, First wood sprite), the Silesian Theatre in Opava (Countess Almaviva, Donna Elvira), the South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice (Mámení in Jan Jirásek's new opera Komenský) and the Aalto-Theater in Essen (Countess Almaviva). Every year she participates in many festivals (Smetana's Litomyšl, Dvořák Prague, Music Znojmo, Leoš Janáček IMF, etc.) She is a permanent member of Roman and Tereza Válková's Czech Ensemble Baroque dedicated to the authentic interpretation of early music. For her role of Countess Almaviva in the production of Le nozze di Figaro in Silesian Theatre Opava, she was shortlisted for the Thalia Awards in 2020 and received the Jantar 2021 Award in April 2022.
