Biography

Maia Gonzalez is a classically trained soprano pursuing her love and passion for opera through performance.

Ms. Gonzalez looks forward to her upcoming premiere of Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with Prague Summer Nights in July 2024, as well as her debut of Adina in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore with Camerata Bardi in June 2024.

In October 2023, Maia made her solo debut in Stern Auditorium/ Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall for the concert celebrating 150 Years of Rachmaninoff and his legacy; organized by Maestro Constantine Orbelian in collaboration with Classical Movements/ Prague Summer Nights Music Festival.

In continued collaboration, Maia had the privilege of performing this concert series once more in January 2024 with Classical Movements at the Rectory on Princess Street.

This past July of 2023, Maia Gonzalez made her debut as Donna Elvira from Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Prague Summer Nights Music Festival, conducted by Maestro John Nardolillo, at the Estates Theatre.

In December of 2022, Maia debuted the title role of Ibert’s opera Angélique conducted by Maestro Pierre Vallet in Neidorff Karpati Hall at Manhattan School of Music.

Prior to this, the soprano had made her international debut as Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore, conducted by Maestro Felipe Tristán, at the Teatro de la Ciudad de Monterrey with Monterrey Summer Opera Academy in August of 2022.

She has previously had the honor of participating in the Quinn Kelsey Masterclass at Manhattan School of Music in November of 2023, Jelena Nosková Masterclass and Dietlinde Maazel Masterclass with the Prague Summer Nights Music Festival during the summer of 2023, Dolora Zajick Masterclass and Aria Concert series at the Monterrey Summer Opera Academy in August, 2022 and the Isabel Leonard Masterclass at Manhattan School of Music in January, 2022.

Ms. Gonzalez holds both a Bachelor of Music Degree and Graduate of Music Degree from Manhattan School of Music and studied under the tutelage of Ashley Putnam.
