
Maia Gonzalez
Biography
Maia Gonzalez is a classically trained soprano pursuing her Graduate Degree at Manhattan School of Music under the tutelage of Ashley Putnam. This season, Ms. Gonzalez will make her debut as Donna Elvira from Mozart’s Don Giovanni with the Prague Summer Nights Music Festival, conducted by Maestro Timothy Long, at the Estates Theatre. In December of 2022, Maia debuted the title role of Ibert’s opera Angélique conducted by Maestro Pierre Vallet in Neidorff Karpati Hall at Manhattan School of Music. Prior to performing as Angélique in Ibert’s opera, Maia Gonzalez had participated as a Young Artist in the Monterrey Summer Opera Academy in August of 2022. Maia had the privilege of making her international opera debut performing the role of Giannetta in Donizetti’s L’Elisir D’Amore, conducted by Maestro Felipe Tristán at the Teatro de la Ciudad de Monterrey. She has previously participated in the Isabel Leonard Masterclass at Manhattan School of Music in January 2022 and the Dolora Zajick Masterclass and Aria Concert series at the Monterrey Summer Opera Academy in August 2022. Maia made her opera debut as Zweite Dame for Manhattan School of Music’s production of Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte prior to completing her bachelor’s degree. Before embarking on her undergraduate and graduate studies, Maia studied in the precollege division of Manhattan School of Music and was a winner in the Schmidt competition and was awarded a George London Scholarship.
