Magdalena Hinterdobler

Guest of the Opera

Biography

German soprano Magdalena Hinterdobler makes her debut in Prague State Opera as Floria Tosca on 14 November 2024.

Magdalena Hinterdobler has been a member of the Frankfurt Opera ensemble since the 2023/24 season, where she made her highly acclaimed debut as Eva (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) and was celebrated as Elisabetta (Don Carlo).
In the current season, she can still be seen there as Chrysothemis (Elektra). Previously, the soprano was a member of the Leipzig Opera ensemble, where she performed alongside the Gewandhaus Orchestra in roles such as Rusalka, Mimì (La Bohème), Marie (The Bartered Bride), Micaëla (Carmen) and in various Wagner roles, including Ortlinde, Dritte Norn and Gutrune (Der Ring des Nibelungen). Her interpretation of Anna in the world premiere of Gerd Kühr's Paradiese also received special attention, for which the Süddeutsche Zeitung celebrated her as an "erotic elemental force with a colourful, sensual soprano". Guest engagements have taken Magdalena Hinterdobler to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich, the Staatstheater Braunschweig and the Landestheater Innsbruck, among others. In concert, the youthful dramatic soprano performs with orchestras such as the Munich Radio Orchestra, the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.
She works closely with the pianist Gerold Huber in the Lied repertoire.
Born in Straubing, Magdalena Hinterdobler studied with Andreas Schmidt and in Helmut Deutsch's lied class at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich and at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding.
