

Magdaléna Hebousse
Biography
Soprano Magdaléna Hebousse made her debut at the State Opera in Prague in 2022 with the role of the First Shadow (Schulhoff: Flammen), directed by Calixto Bieito. She also appeared at the National Theatre in Prague as Young Mařenka (Smetana: The Bartered Bride), directed by Alice Nellis. In the 2023/2024 season she will make her debut on the stage of the State Opera in the roles of Giannetta (Donizetti: L‘elisir d‘amore) and Amanda (Ligeti: Le grand Macabre). She has guested at the Josef Kajetán Tyl Theatre in Pilsen as Krista (Janáček: The Makropulos Case), at the F. X. Šalda in Liberec as Second Wood Nyph (Dvořák: Rusalka) and Spirit of the Tree/Mrs Kalousová (Kučera: Legend of the Misty Mountains). In 2021 she graduated from the Prague Conservatory under the guidance of Monika Brychtová. She finished the Prague Conservatory with a graduation concert with the Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra. She continues her studies at the Prague Academy of Performing Arts in the class of Helena Kaupová. In 2023 she completed a six-month study internship at the Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden. She has attended numerous master classes in the Czech Republic and abroad (Anna Samuil, Kateřina Kněžíková, Markéta Cukrová, Antonio Carangelo). She is a laureate and finalist of several Czech and international singing competitions, especially the International Antonín Dvořák Singing Competition in Karlovy Vary in 2021, where she won the 3rd prize in the Junior category and several other awards. She has participated in the final rounds of Hans Gabor Belvedere 2023 in Dortmund and CLIP in Portofino, Italy. She has also performed at numerous music and theatre festivals in the Czech Republic and abroad (OPERA Music Theatre Festival, Janáček Festival Brno, Antonín Dvořák Music Festival, BACH for ALL, Haydn Music Festival and St. Galler Festspiele, etc.).
