Ludmila Vernerová
Biography
Soprano Ludmila Vernerová graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 1986 and she debuted at the Prague Chamber Opera. She attended master-classes with Edith Wiens, Luisa Bosabalian and Jiří Kotouč and from 1981 she appeared regularly at the Bach Academy in Stuttgart, Germany, conducted by Helmuth Rilling. From 1998 to 2011 she was a soloist of the Prague State Opera Prague where she created almost ten roles: Micaëla (Bizet: Carmen), Rosina ( Rossini: Il barbiere di Siviglia), Puccini‘s Musetta (La bohème) and Liù (Turandot), Hero (Berlioz: Beatrice et Bénédict), Isabelle (Meyerbeer: Robert le Diable), Mozart‘s Fiordilidgi (Così fan tutte), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Angelica (Vivaldi: Orlando furioso), First nymph (Dvořák: Rusalka). Since January 2012 she has been a soloist of the National Theatre Opera. Very important part of her repertoire is made from period interpretation of sacred music. For Supraphon, Bonton, Lupulus, Discovery and Orfeo she has recorded more than 45 CD’s with oratorios and masses.Being highly appreciated for her deep feeling for the oratorio style, she is regularly invited to perform at festivals in Europe, Japan and USA. She has cooperated with distinguished orchestras (Prague Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, Prague Chamber Orchestra) and with such well-known conductors as H. Rilling, G. Deloghu, W. Gönnenwein, G. Gandolfi, F. Bernius, J. M. Händler, G. Albrecht, Ch. Dohnányi and others in most European countries. She is a member of the chamber ensembles Trio cantabile, Collegium flauto dolce and Trifolium pragense. In May 2012 she sang in Menselssohn’s Symphony No. 2 Lobgesang at the Prague Spring Festival under the baton of Christopher Hogwood.
