BiographyThe internationally celebrated dramatic soprano Linda Watson studied singing in Boston and Vienna. In 1994 under the guidance of Jeffrey Tate she sang the Valkyrie Siegrune and the 2nd Norn (Der Ring des Nibelungen) at Théâtre du Châtelet (Paris), while in 1995 she interpreted Sieglinde (Die Walküre) in Essen. She has appeared as a guest on opera stages worldwide, for example, in the lead role in Tristan und Isolde (Bavarian State Opera tour of Japan), in the roles of Kundry (Parsifal), Ortrude (Lohengrin), Venus and Elisabeth (Tannhäuser). In 1994 she sang Brünnhilde (Der Ring des Nibelungen) at Wiener Staatsoper. In the role of Kundry she appeared as a guest at the 1998 Bayreuth Festival, where since 2000 she has also performed as Ortrude. In February 2004 Linda Watson made her debut in the role of Barak, a dyer in Strauss’s Die Frau ohne Schatten in Los Angeles.
