Biography
South Korean soprano Lilla Lee makes her National Theatre Opera debut in 2023/24 season as Abigaille (Nabucco, State Opera new production) and Lady Macbeth (Macbeth). She studied at the conservatories in Milan and Novara, at the Arturo Toscanini Academy in Parma and at the "Orazio Vecchi – Antonio Tonelli" Institute of Musical Studies in Modena with Raina Kabaivanska. She is a laureate of a number of international competitions. In 2008 she made her debut as Turandot at Opera Lombardia and appeared in this role on many other stages (Teatro dell'Aquilla di Fermo, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, Polish National Theatre in Warsaw, Royal Opera House of Muscat Oman, Teatr Wielki in Łódź, State Opera Plovdiv, Teatro Grande di Brescia, Teatro Fraschini di Pavia, Teatro Sociale di Como, National Opera in Sofia, Daegu Opera House). She has also guest appeared at Teatro La Fenice in Venice (Manon Lescaut and Mimi in La bohème), Baltic Opera in Gdańsk (Lady Macbeth in Macbeth and Tosca), Romanian National Opera in Iași (Tosca), Teatro Filarmonico di Verona (Tosca), Romanian National Opera in Bucharest (Aida and Abigaille in Nabucco), Teatro Rosetum di Milano and Teatro Sociale di Como (Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana), Polish National Theatre in Warsaw (Abigail), and Opera House in Dubai (Aida), among others.
