Lenka Polášková

Biography

Photo: Josef Adlt Lenka Polášková was born in 1973. Since 1995 she has worked at the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen as a costume designer. At the same time, she teaches at the Integrated Trade Secondary School. She has created costumes for the opera productions Samson et Dalila, The Flying Dutchman, directed by Jiří Heřman, for the Czech premieres of Antonín Procházka’s plays Věrní abonenti (Loyal Subscribers), Holka nebo kluk (Girl or Boy), Ještě jednou, profesore (Once More, Professor), Přes přísný zákaz dotýká se sněhu (Touching Snow Despite Strict Ban), Celebrity s.r.o., as well as for the productions Akvabely, (Aquabelles), Ptačí zob (Bird-seed) and Letní den (Summer Day), directed by Vilém Dubnička. Within the production of the association in spe, she has designed costumes for the scenic madrigal Lamenti and Benjamin Britten’s opera Curlew River (again directed by Jiří Heřman), which was staged at the Czech Museum of Music in Prague in a co-production with the National Theatre Opera within the Strings of Autumn festival. Her most recent works include costumes for the ballet R.U.R. within the production Miniatures staged at the Estates Theatre in Prague. Update: April 2007
