Biography

Soprano Lada Bočková made her debut at the National Theatre Opera in Prague in December 2023 as Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) and in April 2024 as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte). Since the 2020/21 season she has been a member of the opera company of Theater Bonn, where she debuted in October 2020 in the title role of Cavalli's La Calisto. Her other roles there include Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Clorinda (Cinderella), Laudine (Iwein), Tebaldo (Don Carlo), Oscar (Un ballo in maschera) in a production directed by David Pountney and co-produced with Welsh National Opera, Nerone (Agrippina) and Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro). She guest starred as Bystrouška (The Cunning Little Vixen) at Theater Magdeburg and at the National Theatre of Moravia and Silesia in Ostrava, where she also sings the role of Karolina (Two Widows). She has also appeared as Olga (The Merry Widow) at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Despina (Così fan tutte) at the Slovak National Theatre in Bratislava and Tebaldo (Don Carlos) at the Aalto Theater in Essen. After graduating from Janáček Academy of Music in Brno, Lada Bočková was a member of the opera studio at Teatro Lirico Spoleto. She is a laureate of the Interpretation Competition of the Czech Philharmonic in Prague, the Hilde Zadek Competition and the Otto Edelmann Competition in Austria and the "SWR Junge Opernstars'' in Germany. She regularly collaborates with leading Czech orchestras (Czech Philharmonic, Prague Philharmonia, Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic and Janáček Philharmonic).
