Klaus von Heydenaber

Biography

Klaus von Heydenaber completed a master's degree in jazz piano at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in 2009. Since 2005, he has been working as a theatre composer, musical director and pianist in German-speaking and Hungarian-speaking countries. His places of work have included the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Volkstheater Wien, the Burgtheater Wien and the Schauspiel Stuttgart. In 2018, he composed the full-length, interdisciplinary musical theatre piece Im Amt für Todesangelegenheiten (In the Office for Death Matters) for the Theater Luzern. From 2014 to 2018, he led a jazz orchestra in Munich under his own name, for which he contributed all compositions and arrangements. He is active as a pianist, composer and arranger in several jazz projects, including with saxophonist Gary Fuhrmann. Under the pseudonym HydN, he will release electronic music in the Advancing Minimal and Ambient genres from 2026 onwards.
