Biography

Justin Ingui is a 20 year old Bass-Baritone from New York City, United States. Justin started his musical journey by attending the acclaimed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music, Art, and the Performing Arts in the Upper West Side of Manhattan studying vocal performance. Justin is now continuing his musical career at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance, pursuing a Dual Degree in a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance and Political Science. He currently studies under Baritone Stephen Lusmann and choral conductor Eugene Rodgers.

With background experiences in classical, choral, and lyrical musical theater, Justin is a diverse singer and performer. Outside of academic habitats, Justin has also studied under many prominent vocal influences, such as Dr. Evelyn DeGraf, who conducts the Grammy nominated Chamber Group "Ghost Light". Justin has been a featured performer at coveted spaces in New York, such as: Lincoln Center (David Geffen Hall), Carnegie Hall, and BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). Most recently, Justin has been featured in the Musikverein in Vienna, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Justin has also been a finalist in the "CS Music Vocal Competition" based in Chicago for both Opera Performance and Musical Theater. He has also been prized with other titles such as winner of the International Competition "Grand Prix Virtuoso". In the end of his High School career, Justin was recognized by the Vocal Performance Faculty and received the "Alumni and Fiends" award, being funded $1,000 in grants from both the voice faculty and past alumni. During his Career at the University of Michigan, Just has been a part of multiple student-led productions, as well as performing in various University-led performances like Gianni Schicchi, where he played Marco.

In the future, Justin hopes to expand his musical career in the vocal arts as well as expand his overall musical knowledge.
