Jenny Ljungberg

Biography

A freelance set and costume designer based in Malmö, Jenny Ljungberg studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp from 2003 to 2007. In 2001 she was granted a scholarship for cultural studies from the City of Malmö, in 2009 she received a scholarship from the Arts Council. She has primarily worked with the Teatr Weimar in Malmö. The other theatres she has collaborated with include the Regionteatern Blekinge Kronoberg, Teater 23, Stockholms Stadsteater, Helsingborgs Stadsteater, Farozonen, Teater Atalante, Teaterhögskolan Malmö and Malmö Dramatiska Teater. Moreover, she has created sceneries and costumes for the productions Winterreise (Teater Galeasen), Mephisto (Göteborgs Stadsteater), Ubu (Länsteatern in Örebro) and Skånska mord 1989-2015, Ghosts & Zombies and Heroes, Gods and Monsters (Malmö Stadsteater). Jenny Ljungberg has also designed the costumes for Oslo’s Norwegian Opera production of Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, directed by Alexander Mørk-Eidem.
