Jegyoung Woo

Biography

Jegyoung Woo (MM ’27), tenor, was born in South Korea, graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Dankook University, and is a first-year graduate student at Binghamton University. During his undergraduate studies, he performed leading roles including Don Ottavio in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte. He also appeared frequently as a soloist in oratorio and sacred works, including Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, and received multiple awards in vocal competitions throughout South Korea. He recently performed in Verdi’s Rigoletto with the Suwon City Opera Company.

At Binghamton University, he appeared as A Man with a Paint Box in Postcard from Morocco. Mr. Woo is the first-place winner of the 2025 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) New York Upstate Region competition and a third-place winner in the 2026 NATS Eastern Region competition. He is currently studying under Professor Thomas Goodheart.
