
Javier Castro, tenor, is a Vocal Performance major at Belmont University from Knoxville, Tennessee. He studies with Dr. Mark Whatley and has performed opera internationally in Prague, Vienna, and Italy. His roles include Don Curzio in Le Nozze di Figaro at Prague Summer Nights, Ferrando in Così Fan Tutte at Opera Lucca, Roméo in Roméo et Juliette, Viscount Casada in The Merry Widow, and Pinocchio in Pinocchio, and King Ouf in L’étoile, with Belmont Opera Theatre. He is an active member of Chorale under Dr. Jeffery Ames and was hand-selected for a masterclass with international soprano, Kathryn Lewek. He serves as president of the 2× ICCA-winning a cappella group The Pitchmen and was a 2024 Top 3 Finalist in Classical and Musical Theatre for the NATS competition.
