Jana Červinková

Biography

The young soprano Jana Červinková has devoted herself to singing since childhood. She first sang in a children’s chorus, later she attended private classes with the opera singer Jitka Slavíčková. As a student of singing at Teplice’s Conservatory she won first prize in a competition of Czech conservatories (2001). This prize entitled her to represent the school in the YAMAHA scholarship competition, which she was victorious in too. In 2002 she swept the board at the Antonín Dvořák International Competition in Karlovy Vary, where she not only won first prizes in operatic and song singing but was also awarded the Czech Radio Prize for the best interpretation of a work by a Czech author, the State Opera Prague Prize and the Opera Mozart Prize, both for opera aria rendition. She graduated from Teplice’s Conservatory in 2003. At the present time, she performs as a guest at the State Opera Prague, and the Opera in Ústí nad Labem. The roles in her repertoire include Mozart's the First Lady (Die Zauberflöte) and the Countess (Le nozze di Figaro), Verdi's Anina (La traviata) and the Countess Ceprano (Rigoletto), Puccini's Liu (Turandot) and others.Update: 2005
