Born in Pelhřimov, Jan Adam graduated from the Dance Conservatory in Brno in 2011. While still a student, he performed in ballet productions of the National Theatre Brno, with whom in 2010 he toured Spain with Raymonda and Swan Lake. In 2009 and 2010 he attended ballet masterclasses led by Daria Klimentová, in 2010 and 2012 he participated in the International Contemporary Dance Workshop in Prague. He was a member of the State Opera Prague ballet company (2011/2012) and the Czech National Ballet (f2012-2016). In the 2016/17 season, he joined the ballet company of the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, where he was afforded the opportunity to perform as a soloist (Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Director King in The Sleeping Beauty, the King in The Little Prince, Shapkin in The Storm, and other roles), and he also gave training lessons. In June 2019 he completed his bachelor studies at the Academy of Music in Prague (dance education). At the present time, he is an external dancer and assistant director/stage manager at the National Theatre in Prague. He participated in a successful guest appearance with the production of the Prague State Opera of Rodion Shchedrin’s Lolita at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg (February 2020) and created choreography for the new production of Rigoletto (director Barbora Horáková Joly).
