Jan Adam was born in Pelhřimov. In 2011 he graduated from the Conservatory of Dance in Brno. As a student, he appeared in ballets and operas productions of The National Theatre Brno. In 2010 he made a tour in Spain. In 2009 and 2010 he attended ballet masterclasses led by Daria Klimentová. In 2010 and 2012 he participated in an International Contemporary Dance Workshop in Prague. He was a member of The Prague State Opera ballet company (2011/12) and The Czech National Ballet (2012-2016). In the 2016/17 theatre season (till 2019), he joined the ballet company of the F.X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, where he performed as a soloist (Tybalt in Romeo and Juliet, Director King in The Sleeping Beauty, the King in The Little Prince, Alter ego in Gazdina roba, Shapkin in The Storm). He also worked as a ballet teacher. In June 2019 he completed his bachelor studies at the Academy of Music in Prague (dance education – classical and modern dance). Currently, he is a dancer, choreographer ,assistant director and at The Prague National Theatre. He also dances at The Kalich Theatre (musical Voda (a krev) nad vodou – directed and choreographed by Ján Ďurovčík). In 2020 he worked as an assistant director in the production of Lolita directed by Sláva Daubnerová at The Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. In 2021 he choreographed a new production of Rigoletto (directed by Barbora Horáková Joly) at The Prague National Theatre. As an assistant choreographer and assistant director participated in the production of Seven Deadly Sins at The Arriaga Theatre in Bilbao (2021, directed by Barbora Horáková Joly). In the theatre season 2021/22 he is to work as an assistant choreographer (choreography / Motion cooperation) in the production of Seven Deadly Sins at The Prague National Theatre (directed by Barbora Horáková Joly).
