Hyesoo Kim
Biography
Korean soprano Hyesoo Kim graduated Manhattan School of Music Master’s degree studied with Edith Bers and Shirley Close in this May. Also, she got Bachelor’s degree with summa cum laude from Ewha Womans University in Seoul studied with Mija Park. Ms. Kim performed opera credits include the role of Musetta in La Bohème at The Century Opera; Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel at Berlin Opera Academy; Martha in Martha at Manhattan School of Music; and Pamina in Die Zauberflöte at Ewha Womans University. Scene work includes L’elisir damore (Adina), Don Giovanni (Zerlina), Der Rosenkavalier (Sophie), Mosé in Egitto (Altea), Die Schauspieldirektor (Silberklang) at MSM, Die Schauspieldirektor (Madame Herz), Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi). She has won awards in Korea including second place in the 8th Seil Korean Art Song Competition, grand prize of the 25th Sungjung National Music Concours, gold prize of the 14th National Voice Competition, and the second place of the 25th Suri Music Competition. She performed as a soloist in Kumho Young Artist Concert Series. This summer, she will perform Le Nozze di Figaro (Susanna) with Prague Summer Nights 2022 and she will attend SongFest as Professional Artist. From this September, she will continue her studies at San Francisco Conservatory of Music for Artist Diploma with César Ulloa.
