Huiying Chen
Biography
Huiying Chen, a soprano born in China, as a member of the Korean Ethnic Group of China. She graduated with a bachelor degree from the Xi'an Conservatory of Music in China. And she got the Professional Studies Certificate at the Manhattan School of Music (MSM), and also received a Master degree from MSM under the tutelage of Prof. Shirley Close. In 2024, she won the Orff Award in the Orpheus Vocal Competition. And she was the winner for the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition in North Carolina District. Miss Chen will play as Zerlina in Don Giovanni in July at Prague Summer Nights and she will be training as yap with Lyric Opera of Kansas City in September. In 2023 she played as Sandrina in La finta giardiniera at MSM, also played the role of Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann with the Opera Carolina. In 2022, she performed in the MSM Mainstage opera production as Aurore in Le Portrait de Manon. And she was also performing for concert version in L'enfant et les sortilèges.
